This is the website for Louis J. Acompora Memorial Foundation. Louis Acompora died on March 25, 2000 after being struck in the chest with a lacrosse ball. This site contains information about commotio cordis and legislative
informaton. It has specific information on all 50 states. Louie is the reason for the New York state law mandating AEDs in New York schools. It also provides guidelines for implementing AED programs in schools and training assistance for Long Island, New York.

The Chad Foundation -In memory of Chad Butrum who died on April 23, 1994. The Foundation promotes free echocardiogram screening to identify undiagnosed cardiac problems like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, the disease that took Chad’s life. Promotes early diagnosis of heart disease and heart muscle abnormalities, so that sudden heart failure can be prevented and the condition be treated if found.
